Hole 1

Par 5 - 480m

A dogleg right par 5 of 480m which will test any golfers resolve, particularly the second

shot for the shorter hitters.

Your drive will hopefully come to rest on the top of the hill from where the green first comes

into view.

The second shot has many hearts pounding and is not for the faint hearted. The second

shot is usually from the highest point on the course to a flatter area approx 30 metres

below you, with a steep bank on the left and bush and a water hazard on the right.

Anything long for your third shot will catch the steep drop off behind the green.

In summary the view from here is spectacular, but you must get over the nerves first!

Hole 2

Par 3 - 143m

An uphill par 3 of 143m to a well bunkered green.

The slope on this green results in many a 3 putt, particularly if you are above the hole.

Hole 3

Par 5 - 455m

The second of our two par 5's, it is a slight dogleg right to an uphill sloping green.

The fairway slopes severely from right to left as it follows the side contour of the hill.

A good drive will most likely come to rest on the left edge of the fairway with a clear second

shot.

Anything too far left however and there is a steep bank edged by bush and out of bounds

on the road.

A drive finishing on the top right hand side of the fairway will be blocked out by trees for

the second shot.

Do not go long with your third shot as there is a drain behind the green

Hole 4

Par 4 - 275m

After crossing the road you arrive at what might seem to be a relatively easy par 4. It is

short at only 275 metres, and all downhill to a flat green. But beware! Both sides of the

fairway are lined by bush, with the whole length of the left side of the fairway being out of

bounds.

A well placed fairway bunker, unseen from the tee, will catch your drive if it is a little too far

right.

If you overshoot the green with your second shot, your ball will take the steep drop off

behind the green. A very difficult up and down is assured.

Hole 5

Par 3 - 124m

A short downhill par 3 to a well bunkered green. Anything dragged too far left will usually

result in a lost ball. Many a bogey is made here.

Hole 6

Par 4 - 305m

A difficult uphill dogleg left par 4 which plays longer that its distance.

The fairway is lined on both sides by trees and also slopes from right to left. The ideal drive

here is a slight draw for the right handers, which avoids trouble and drastically reduces the

length of the second shot. Anything pushed too far right off the tee sees the ball amongst

more trees.

The second shot is to a sharply elevated green approximately 20 metres above you, and is

also probably the most difficult on the course. It is two tiered, and anything coming to rest

on the top tier with the pin on the bottom will be trying to avoid a 3 putt, as your first one

usually will run off the green to the bottom fringe.

Hole 7

Par 4 - 398m

The most difficult hole on the course, it is a long par 4 of 398m, with many golfers unable

to reach the green for two.

The fairway slopes from left to right and again is bordered by trees on both sides.

Your second shot to the green can sometimes find the dam in front of the 8th tee if you pull

it too much.

Hole 8

Par 4 - 358m

The main feature of this hole is a water carry over our dam immediately off the tee.

Once this has been successfully negotiated, down the fairway out of view from the tee is

fairway bunkers on the left and another small dam adjacent.

The ideal tee shot is aimed at the right side of the fairway as it slopes from right to left.

The green also slopes severely from right to left and is protected by two bunkers on the left.

Anything long and your ball will take the severe drop off over the back of the green, with a

slim chance of an up and down.

Hole 9

Par 3 - 124m

An uphill par 3 of 124m in front of the clubhouse to a well bunkered green.

The feature of this hole is the sharply sloping green from back to front. Your tee shot should

be long enough to hit the middle of the green. Anything landing on the front half of the

green will almost certainly roll backwards off the front edge.

A word of caution with this green. Even though your drive needs to pitch in the middle of

the green, any putt from the back half of the green will be a fast downhiller, and should

your putt miss the cup, it usually continues to travel for longer than is expected. 3 putts

are common on this notorious green.
